I was grateful to see the sun yesterday…and apparently so was my hibiscus. It rests/grows in a pot in front of a large picture window and if I’m lucky I catch the big reveal – one bud at a time. I have learned it is a live-in-the-moment blooming plant; as the flowers show off their colors for maybe a day or two before starting to wilt. Obviously my Sunday to-do list needed to wait. Several buds had burst open overnight…and the light was just right. How could I resist?

I planted a hedge of them in San Diego so I could feed them to my iguana. And look at them. β€

Makes sense. My favorite vacation destination for many years was San Diego. I used to kid my son (who eventually became a financial analyst) that someday he would buy me (and his dad) a condo on Coronado! π Still waiting! π

I lived on Coronado the first three months I was in San Diego. I didn’t understand it at all. BUT after 30 years I did. Now I miss it.

It is such a beautiful spot. I miss it too and I only went for a week at a time for vacations. Lucky you to have lived there, if only for 3 months.

I lived there for 30 years! It’s a very different place to visit than it is to live, but still beautiful. β€
