Inspired by Becky’s Blue July Squares
I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the early evening light…as it settled over these blue Hydrangeas. To try out my new camera…with its macro lens.
Fortunately the muggy summer air held the delicate petals still…as I experimented with different settings.
I have much to learn, but for the first few attempts…
What do you think?
I love the blue!! Beautiful photo. What kind of camera and lens?

Thank you!
The camera is a Canon EOS RP with a RF35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM lens.

Wow!! I had to look this one up as I don’t use Canon. Such a great camera! Has that movable screen too. Nice lens. Not a cheap camera for sure, great choice!! More photos please. 😎

Yes, the moveable screen is a big help. There will be more photos to come 🙂

Thank you so much…and you are right – it would take some great portraits. 🙂
I think I may like the second shot the best too. It was fun catching the light in different ways.

Beautiful, I love hydrangeas – I love that you’re playing with the macro setting! Turn it to Manual mode and adjust the white balance to see what you get next time. 🙂

Thanks for the tip! I remember you mentioning white balance in one of your posts, but couldn’t remember details. My setting is a graph (not sure which way to go). Ideas welcome.
