Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Pairs

Inspired by Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Pairs

The sun finally started showing up in my living room recently. I was most grateful…and out came the camera. As well as, of course, the deck chairs. More specifically a pair of Adirondack chairs…souvenirs from a long ago trip to Coronado, California. They remind me of the beach. Somewhere there is a mini jelly jar full of sand that also made the trip back home.

These days, this pair of chairs has to settle for a view out the window in snow covered New Hampshire. As do I.

Checking out one view…
…and then another.

Macro Monday: Afternoon Light

September Sun…3 PM

What is it about sunlight in the afternoon?

Well, I know it’s something about the angle and the sun’s position and all that, but really. It is pretty amazing. Pretty and Amazing.

It never fails to capture my attention and make me smile.

Lens-Artists Challenge: Change Your Perspective

Inspired by Lens-Artists Challenge #86: Change Your Perspective

…we invite you to break the habit of shooting photos at eye-level and change your perspective.  Instead, show us your photographs taken from a variety of perspectives–by getting down low, by looking up at the subject or looking down, or walking around the subject.

This past Sunday – sunny but cold – seemed a perfect opportunity for a walk on the beach. The bright afternoon sun enhanced the perspective potential for this challenge…and I am always chasing the light.

It didn’t disappoint.

Along the walkway bordering the beach is a shelter that covers several lines of benches. The sun lit it up with lines as well.

At first…one side

A bit less eye-catching from the other side…

And then the other side…

Venturing underneath and looking up…

Taking a look up…

…revealed an entirely different display.

I continued walking down the boulevard…but before turning around to head back to my car, I glanced up.

Apparently two seagulls took it upon themselves to be on the lookout atop a light pole.

On the lookout…

They sat at attention long enough for a photo.
