One of the many memorable parts of spending Christmas 2019 at my daughter’s home was her amazing cooking and baking.
The menu: extensive (even included a cheese course!).
The vegetables: fresh…and, in this case…the nutritional powerhouse cruciferous variety.
I decided to document.
The roasted Brussels sprouts (along with cousin cauliflower) were seasoned to perfection and enjoyed by all.

While attending a Festival of Trees recently, I noticed this ornament hidden in one of the intricately decorated Christmas trees on display.
After experimenting with different settings on my camera, I landed on one that did it justice.
Giving it a chance to shine.

During a walk in the woods a week or so ago, I remembered to look down.
Then I got a bit closer.
Let’s not forget what has fallen off those trees with the once gorgeous leaves and needles.
Before everything is crunched and flattened on the ground by wildlife or walkers such as myself.
Before it all eventually disappears…under the snow.
I believe there is always something eye catching in nature…even at the end of the life cycle.
Inspired by Sunshine’s Macro Monday #16…a new challenge I recently discovered.
I have been experimenting with macro photography…and after several walks down the path in the woods behind my home, I was able to capture this shot.
Finally…late afternoon light (of course!) and no breeze.
I’m not sure what type of grass this is, but my guess is it’s cats tail.
Am I right?
