These Callery Pear Trees border one side of the road near my home. Their flowering stage only lasts a few weeks (at most). It’s one of those photographic opportunities that can’t be put off…and this year I didn’t procrastinate.
Today is the last day of Becky B’s July Treesquare challenge and I can’t let it end without including some of my favorite trees. Callery Pear Trees line the street into my condo development and bloom in bursts of white for only about a week every Spring. This photo was taken April 26, 2021. A yearly photo opportunity you can’t procrastinate about or else it’s too late and the petals fall…blanketing the grass below.
Nancy Merrill is hosting a photo challenge. The theme this week – Three of a Kind

Spring is finally here. So says the calendar.
However, Winter’s damp cold dome of a sky has been holding on. Clouds blocking the sunlight. The budding…and trying-to-bloom…trees…that I look forward to every year waiting to shine.
Until today. The sun was so bright, I nearly blinded myself taking these photos. But totally worth it. It’s supposed to rain for most of the coming week, so it was now or…who knows when.
The row of Callery pear trees…in full bloom at long last.
