Inspired by Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge: Doors and Drawers
~~~
One herb or spice per drawer…each a medicinal hope for ailing customers who entered this Vermont pharmacy…sometime in the early 1900s.
A piece of history on display at the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont.
Things in the medical world have changed for the better, that’s a nice cabinet. I love old wood.
Great photo, as always, OLU! Were you able to resist opening one of those drawers and taking a peek inside?!? What on earth were Scullcap and Snake R used for? Can you imagine what they tasted or smelled like?
Thank you! Yes I resisted, although it was tempting. I have no idea what those potions were used for OR tasted like! 🙂
Great photo–I like the ornate drawer pulls (if that’s what they’re called…).
